Get ready for a great spring race!

We hope that you're excited as we are to beat the summer heat at Beat the Heat on April 13 in Westminster, CO! Here's all the details that you need for a safe and fun event, please read them all the way through!

Don't forget, this is our 80s-themed event, with great 80s music and costume contest (more below).

Set up results notifications

  • We will now post results online during the event! You can set up notifications so that you get a text and/or email with your results straight to your phone
  • View our handy-dandy instructions on how to set up results notifications for your Beat the Heat registration
  • You can also always click on the Results menu item above to view the results
  • Note that all results notifications are preliminary, make sure to visit our results page starting the day after the event to view final results

Packet pickup

  • Early packet pickup is Thursday, 4:30-6:30p at Road Runner Sports, 10442 Town Center Dr #300, Westminster, CO 80021 click here for directions
    • Road Runner Sports will donate $1 to Adaptive Adventures for every packet that's picked up during early packet pickup, so join us if you can!
  • Half marathon packet pickup opens race morning at 7:15a and closes 7:50a for half marathon, 8:20 for 10K, and 8:30 for 5K (no exceptions) 
  • You do not need an ID to pick up your packet, or the packet of your friend/spouse/etc. Just give us names!

Parking and directions

  • Directions: The Church Ranch Office Park is located at 10170 Church Ranch Wy in Westminster, CO. From US36 you'll go southwest on Church Ranch Blvd, then east on 103rd Ave and south on Church Ranch Wy to find the venue on the east side of the street. Click here for a map or to get directions.
  • Parking: We have tons of parking for you! Athletes & spectators will be asked to park in the lots north and east of the office building, or around of the office building across the street. Please do not park at the school, hotels, or bank, on the street, or behind the office building. Please see the parking map below and follow all parking signs & staff direction on race day.

Pre-race

  • The venue and expo will open at 7:15a
  • If you'd like to participate in the costume contest, make sure to get your picture taken at the awards tent (winners will be emailed)
  • We do have a gear check in the venue, next to meal. And we will collect items dropped on the course to return to the gear check (see more details below)
  • Our expo partners will be available for you pre-race. Learn more about our benefiting charity, Adaptive Adventures, or get pre-race samples of the amazing Superganix CBD balm
  • Jim Peterson will be running his 100th race with All-Out. Be sure to congratulate him as you see him (he'll have a gold bib on)

Race starts

  • Bibs must be on your outer-most layer and visible
  • Please line up in the corral based on your expected pace (those going for the course record in the front to walkers in the back)
  • Note that we will be using chip timing, so even if someone never passes you on the course, they may have a faster time
  • Start times. You must start at 8:00 for half marathon, 8:30 for 10K, and 8:40 for 5K and within 5 minutes of these times. if you are late, you will be asked to downgrade or will not be allowed to run on course with a bib as part of the event (this is for your safety on course)

Be safe on course

  • The current long-range forecast is for Saturday to be warm. We're starting early so you should be done before the worst of the heat. However, since it's one of the first warm days of the year, please be careful on course and drink plenty of fluids
  • Ensure your bib is always visible and on your front, this is for your on-course safety and also for identifying photographs of you on course
  • Make sure you are familiar with your course and aid stations. You can view and download the course from our course details pageHot tip: when you click on the download link for your course, you can see an animation of your path. We have water, Gu energy gels, Gatorade, and Superganix CBD Relief Balm at every aid station
  • Beat the Heat/Fall Fest alumni: note that there is a change in the course at mile 1.6, you will be running on the concrete trail south of the creek. This changes the location of the half marathon turnaround on the dam, make sure at Aid 3 and your first turnaround you enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake that few get to see!
  • We have bright green course signs with blue arrows, course markings on the ground with bright green tape, and course volunteers at key locations to help guide you
  • We have orange discs to block where you shouldn't go. Don't go through, around, over, or past any orange disc, or you will be off-course
  • You will be running on a (0.37 mi each way) asphalt portion along 99th Ave around mile 1/1 mile to go. Traffic will not be closed on 99th Ave, so please stay within the coned section of the road, or if you do need to pass outside the cones, do so with caution. Half marathon will also be running along 86th Pkwy between Aid 4 and 5, stay on the sidewalk as traffic will not be closed on this road
  • You can drop items at any aid station, and we will attempt to get your items back to the venue as soon as possible and it will be at the Gear Check tent. If you do not wait for your item, email after the event and we can mail your gear (with paid shipping) or hold it until your next event. Best practice: put your name in your gear
  • Dogs are welcome! We have dog bowls at every aid station and the finish line, and dog treats at the meal tent. Make sure to use short leashes while on course

Post-race

  • After you finish, make sure to go to your results online (NEW! We have online real-time results!) or go to the results tent to check out your time, even if you don't think that you placed
  • We offer FREE medal engraving! Make sure to record your time at the results tent before you head to the engraving tent or have your online results (we can't pull up your time at the engraving tent)
  • Stop by the meal tent for post-race goodies, including fruit, warm breakfast burrito, and chocolate milk (post-race goodies are for athletes only)
  • If you've run Beat the Heat before, make sure to stop back by the registration tent to get your brag tag!
  • Visit all of our wonderful partners in the expo to get free bodywork, cans of Polar Beverages, and more
  • Use the coupon code on your bib by 4/20 to receive $5 off any and all events on the All-Out calendar
  • Online photos, with free downloads, will be posted by Tuesday, 7p

Award ceremony

  • 5K award ceremony: 9:40
  • 10K award ceremony: 10:00
  • Half marathon award ceremony: overall 10:00, division 10:30
